According to the Justice Department, on December 11th 1997, Microsoft violated a court order to make available the Windows95 operating system software without requiring the installation of Internet Explorer.
The Justice Department demanded a $1,000,000 per day fine for this violation. If this request is granted, I've created a little JavaScript to show you the running total. |

| All in all, $1,000,000 a day comes to just over $11.57 a second! Pocket change for Mr. Gates, but something that I hope would send a message loud and clear that the world is not Redmond's playground and Microsoft is not the behemoth it likes to think it is! |
