Who represents women in late-night arena?

Postby AHAS » Fri Jun 27, 2008 7:36 pm

Aly made an appearance at the Los Angeles Film Festival (June 19-29) on a discussion panel with Jennifer Tilly, Janeane Garofalo and Illeana Douglas. Defamer.com was there and posted the exchange when the talk turned to the lack of females hosting late-night talk shows.

Ms. Hannigan didn't see the slight as intentional, but some of the other panel members did.

A linked story to that story was a quote about worst kissers.

Jason Segal, Outed by Alyson Hannigan: "Alyson refused to kiss him or do any romantic scenes with him, because he smelled like smoke. He thanks her for forcing him to do that because now he not only smells better, he feels better as well."

THANK YOU! Now I understand the comment after the article where someone referred to Aly as "Smoke-breath" Alyson.

I was disappointed when we lost Steve Allen, then Jack Paar, then Johnny Carson, but I won't miss Letterman at all. I agree with Aly and don't think the overlooking of women is a cause for being upset particularly since Leno and Letterman have been on for a while now. Even though I'm not familiar with all of the women that were suggested to host a late night show, I'd like to see any of the panelists (well one in particular) hosting a late night show except perhaps for the acerbic Janeane Garafalo. God knows how much I'd like to see ALHD hosting The Tonight Show; how wonderful, Hannigan every day.

I love Conan so much. He can be really feminine sometimes haha! Janeane Garafalo would make a great late-night host. I love her dry humor.
I will that this Q-Tip get... unbendy?

I also agree with Aly about this matter and i think the greatest was Johnny Carson.Actually i like both Jay Leno and David Letterman. In Italy i can't see Conan O'Brien right now, but i saw his interview with Aly and enjoyed it a lot :) !
