Alyson Hannigan's Birth Story - An Audio-Visual Extravaganza

Postby Nyarl » Mon Aug 25, 2008 9:49 am

This AHAS Exclusive special presentation is brought to you by Nyarl (Paul Darcy) and Aly’s First Fan (Al Hannigan) - two AHAS bored, um, board members who just had to give a little something back to such a great community as this.

Shown only here at AHAS, and for the first time ever, you get two special treats. Pictures from A1F and an audio version of The Aly Birth Story which would be the working copy of the Pro’s Log to an Alyson Hannigan biography.

Well, first up we have Al’s Mom and Dad. Aren’t they just cute? Which makes me wonder just what the heck is up with Al - guess these things skip a generation . . .

Image

Now, I know you are dying to see the weekend hippies in all their pre nuptial glory - and not to disappoint here they are - Emilie and Albert in NYC sometime before they got married. Sweater looks a bit itchy to me - maybe not as much as the upper lip rug though. :o

Image

And again, Emilie and Albert during the day of their wedding March 10, 1973 at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. Get a load of that tie - one good spin and I’m sure Al would have been airborne!

Image

Now I bet you are wondering what Aly’s other grandma looked like. Well wonder no more for here she is, Dorothy who was there at the time of Aly's birth. I love the glasses . . . No, really.

Image

And can you believe your eyes with this one. I’ll keep it a secret but once you listen to the audio you will know all about this. It is not the actual machine, but truth be told it is the same version and painted in pretty much the same way - with spray cans by Emilie and Albert. Absolutely a HOOT!

Image

Thanks so much to Al for those great pictures and his help in this little project.

Now, on to the audio version of Alyson Hannigan’s birth story.

The audio version of A Pro's Log - The Alyson Hannigan Birth Story by Paul Darcy (Nyarl). File is 2.69 M and runs 3:55 min/sec. (Transcript Link)

I hope you all have enjoyed this little presentation as much as we enjoyed doing it.

Please don’t’ be afraid to make fun of either Al or myself in the comments on this thread. Oh, and you can vote in two of the five poll options. This is so we don't discriminate against those with bipolar dysfunctions. However, If you are deaf, dumb and blind we apologize - but there is always pinball, right?

Dear, kind Nyarl--could you please transcribe the audio track into written form for the benefit of those of us who have old, primitive computers that cannot access audio tracks?

Please, please, pretty please with sugar on top! **begs**

I'm sorry about this but I don't have access to it from work right now. When I get home today it will be the first thing I do. - and even after AHAS reminded me of it yesterday I still forgot. :?

EDIT: Hey I just realized that TODAY marks my 5 Year Anniversary here at AHAS too!

It's wonderful, I love it :D ! Awesome, awesome job, guys!

(and congrats on the 5 year anniversary, Nyarl!)

Edit: And does anybody else think that Emilie looks a lot like Alyson in that second picture :o ?

She looks a lot like Alyson in both pictures; look at her smile as she leans on A1F's shoulder, cute beyond words with an impish overtone.

And isn't Nyarl's reading voice great; I just decided to buy the books on tape edition too. Bulwer-Lytton, Baum, and Dickens, are those enough literary allusions in a mouthful or two of sentences? :) :) :)

Thanks so much, Paul; you really improved my day, warmed my heart, and made me smile. This was even better that I expected; it's like an extra cute, new picture of Alyson. Please, may we have some more, sir?

I'm married to a lovely woman with a PHd in Victorian Literature - what do you expect?

And glad you all liked it and thanks ( ) for the kind words.

As to more - who knows what the mind of madness will think up next? :P

I was thinking maybe a musical - something like "Nurse Wonderful's hum along Karoake Bar" starring Alyson Hannigan, Jewel Staite, Gigi Edgley, Keira Knightley and myself as the nurse, of course . . . :wn:

So that's Aly's parents in their prime. No wonder she's smart, beautiful, funny, successful, confident, kind, wonderful, generous .....

OOPS, sorry, got carried away there. Nicely done, Nyarl.

Somebodies were channeling Sonny and Cher. And it's wonderful knowing that Aly will age gracefully and STILL retain her inner-and-outer beauty!! Al, with Aly as a product sample, you would have made a seriously in-demand anonymous donor. :D

I've just set up the "Transcript Link" in the first post after the "audio link" so you now can read what I was saying in the audio, and for those with limited capabilities. :D

And dont' be afraid to keep the abus . . ., er, comments coming. :wn:

How lovely! Thank you so much Nyarl and Al! And yes it is uncanny how much Aly looks like Emilie in those photos..and also yes..it is nice to know Aly will age well and be just as beautiful in older age as she is now. In fact in looking at that photo of Emilie with her head on Al's shoulder...are you sure you didn't just copy and paste Aly's smile in there? My God Aly's is exactly the same!

Looking forward to more..but isn't it just like fans? Give them a little and they always want more! But then..didn't one of the greats once say they key to good acting was to always keep 'em wanting more...ah...now we know Aly's secret...

 (although, with the 'tache, there's a definite echo of Nancy Sinatra & Lee Hazlewood, too)

Alas, I couldn't hear the audio, but knowing Nyarl to be Canadian, I imagined Raymond Burr reading the voiceover, which added a whole extra dimension...

Well, we can certainly see which side of the family Aly got her looks from.  Al certainly had the Sonny look down. And I don't think I could have carried off that great bow tie look near as well.
